The ParkView
Chicago’s River East area, sometimes called the Platinum Coast, is under development between the Chicago River and Grand Avenue, Columbus Drive and Lake Shore Drive. One of the centerpieces of the neighborhood is bound to be The ParkView, a stunning, 47-story glass and copper residential tower that will be constructed beside a 70,000-square-foot park. Located near Chicago’s Tribune Tower and the historic Wrigley Building–the world’s first skyscraper–the ParkView will offer spectacular views of the lakefront, Millennium and Grant Parks. The site is only a short walk to Navy Pier, world-class hotels, fine and casual dining, and the unparalleled shopping of North Michigan Avenue. Two of Chicago’s most famous jazz clubs and other night spots, as well as Northwestern University’s Downtown Campus, are only steps away.
The ParkView promises to become a landmark with its sharp, clean vertical lines and a copper exterior that, over time, will age to a pale green patina. Inside, the 268 condo residences range from one to three bedrooms with one to 2.5 baths, in a choice of six different floor plans that may add a den/guest room and separate living and dining areas. The units feature nine-foot ceilings with floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies to take advantage of the striking views. In keeping with its ultra-modern appearance, the ParkView is pre-wired for high-speed Internet, cable and satellite TV, and provides individually-controlled heating/cooling and tinted, insulated glass windows. Kitchens are equipped with 42" cabinetry with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances, while bathrooms feature designer lighting and porcelain tile flooring, with whirlpool soaking tubs and separate showers in the master suite.
Round-the-clock doorman service and a receiving room, a fitness center, outdoor pool and lounge area, entertainment suite and theatre, deeded indoor parking, private storage, and dry cleaners are available to all residents.
The River East location is already a well-developed area, only minutes from the Loop business and financial area, and in the very center of Chicago. However, the adjacent park and nearby lakefront assure the area’s continuing “greenspace” and highly desirable residential appeal.
