Trump International Hotel & Tower

  Chicago’s new Trump International Hotel & Tower promises to become the city’s newest landmark. The 92-story tower, scheduled for completion in 2008, will occupy a site along the Chicago River just off Michigan Avenue that had been home to the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper. 401 N. Wabash Avenue now will be one of the hottest addresses in the city for both residents and visitors. Developed by Donald Trump and  designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill, Trump International features curvilinear lines that flow with river, molded into a shimmering stainless steel and glass facade. When complete, the building will be one of the tallest structures in Chicago, with breathtaking views of the city, the Chicago River, and Lake Michigan.
 
  Trump International may also set a new standard for urban high-rise living. The first 17 floors of the sleek skyscraper will house exclusive boutique shopping, parking, and fine restaurants with outdoor terraces overlooking the river. Floors 18 - 27 provide 286 residential hotel suites, offered both to individuals and corporations. Available in 17 different floor plans, and as 500-square-foot studios to 2,245-square-foot, two bedroom/three bath suites, these hotel condos are supported by a five-star range of hotel services, such as access to world-class restaurants and catering services, meeting/conference rooms, and grand/junior ballrooms. Hotel guests also have use of the building’s 60,000-square-foot health spa and fitness center.

  Trump International’s 472 residential condos fill floors 29 to 87, with penthouses on the top two stories. Unit size goes from 580-square-foot studio apartments to 3,100-square-foot, three bedroom/four bath residences. Condo owners can choose from 23 different floor plans, have their own dressing rooms at the health spa, assigned indoor parking, and access to the private 1.2-acre Riverwalk Park, which includes a dog run. Each residence features 10-foot-high ceilings, Brazilian hardwood floors, and fireplaces in most of the two- and three-bedroom designs. All-season air conditioning is individually-controlled. For an additional fee, residents can arrange for housekeeping and catering services. Concierge service and a 24-hour “white glove” doorman are included.
