The Venetian
The Venetian, a new 16-story, 88-unit high-rise condo is one of the latest additions to Chicago’s eclectic Old Town area. Located at 230 West Division Street, the concrete and glass tower provides hints of Italian styling, including an impressive central lobby with 14-foot ceilings and high archways. The Venetian offers a private and secure entrance for residents that is separate from the convenient ground-floor retail space and four-floor parking garage. Old Town is a well-established mixed-use neighborhood, heavily residential, with a range of shopping, dining, entertainment and cultural centers that include Chicago’s Second City Comedy Theatre and Piper’s Alley boutiques and restaurants.
Though designed with up-to-the-minute amenities, including a fitness center and pre-wiring for high-speed Internet, cable and satellite TV, the Venetian never loses a sense of Old World elegance and charm. Only eight spacious units occupy each floor–with some two-level units–and the building’s setbacks make six of these residences highly desirable as corner units with stunning views in several directions. Condos range from one bedroom/one bath to the multiple-level three bedrooms/three baths, all with private terraces or balconies. Oak hardwood flooring in all units, and fireplaces in some, provide a comfortable, intimate ambience. Kitchens are equipped with high-quality appliances, granite counter tops, and a choice of cherry or maple cabinetry and paneling. Master bathrooms are finished in Travertine marble, with separate soaking tubs and showers. A secluded, fifth floor “piazza,” rooftop sundeck, and party room with floor-to-ceiling windows for panoramic views of the lakefront and the city are available to residents. Deeded garage parking is optional.
The Venetian is only minutes away from Chicago’s Loop business and financial area, and is easily accessible by public transportation. In addition, the lakefront, the hiking/biking trails of Lincoln Park, and Lincoln Park Zoo are within walking distance. Old Town is well-known as a center of avant-garde culture, and offers some of the city’s finest ethnic restaurants, art galleries, and lively night spots. One of Chicago’s first condo developments, Carl Sandburg Village, is nearby.
