The Gateway Grand
While Ocean City, Maryland, has long been a desirable vacation destination, the planned Gateway Grand, a 16-story high-rise condo, promises residents a luxurious resort lifestyle year-round. Located between 48th and 49th Streets on Maryland’s barrier island, the Gateway Grand will occupy 250 feet of private beachfront on the sandy shores of the Atlantic Ocean, only minutes away from a wide variety of shops and restaurants, the boardwalk, championship golf courses, and several marinas. From the outside, the Gateway Grand looks like it would be at home in Miami Beach, with pale concrete exterior columns punctuated by the balconies on every floor. The building even features a large, ground-level terrace on the beach, available only to residents and their guests, but that’s only the start.
The Gateway Grand’s 196 residences are family-oriented, available in spacious three-bedroom/three bath, or four-bedroom/ three- or four-bath configurations. Every unit has nine-foot ceilings and open floor plans, as well as a balcony, to take advantage of the panoramic views of the ocean. The larger, corner units feature wrap-around terraces. Residents can enjoy separate living and dining areas, along with kitchens equipped with wooden cabinetry, granite counter tops, and stainless steel appliances. Master bathrooms are finished in marble, and provide double-basin vanities and separate soaking tubs and showers.
Building amenities make every day like a vacation. The lobby and Gateway Club Lounge offer views of the oceanfront, and also provide a catering kitchen, entertainment center, and bar for hosting special events. Residents also have access to a fully-equipped fitness center and both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, surface or enclosed-garage parking, and individual private storage spaces. With families in mind, an on-site Kid’s Club offers a secure play space for children. The Gateway Grand is equipped with five elevators that stop on every floor for added convenience, and corridors are enclosed for usage throughout the year.
Sales opened for the Gateway Grand in November 2005, with the building scheduled for completion in 2008. Brisk sales were reported at the open house launch, with residences priced at $1 million to $2.9 million.
