625 W 42nd Street
A fantastic new high rise is going up in Manhattan. Located at the corner of 635 West 42nd Street, it will rise 478 feet into the air and contain 478 luxurious units. Construction on the 46 story building started in 2004 and has created a lot of buzz in the area. The first homeowners should be able to move in starting in the first months of 2006.
The spacious homes will range from one to four bedrooms. The architectural firm behind the design, Costas Kondylis and Partners, is famous in New York for its innovative high-rise residential buildings. Kondylis’ vision has led to the creation of some of the city’s most luxurious and note-worthy residential towers, including Trump World Tower. The exterior of his latest project, 625 West 42nd Street, promises to be the most daring yet. This striking building is already receiving rave reviews for its indented notches and all glass corners. The slab tower’s north and south facades also have four protruding design elements that wrap two-thirds of the way around the building in alternating fashion. These two-story high structural details on the building’s façade create an effect that is both daring and high-tech. The edgy drama of the building fits its location perfectly, which is New York City’s vibrant Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood. Homeowners will be able to take advantage of incredible dining, entertainment venues, and shopping, all within just a few blocks of their condo.
J.D. Carlisle Development is in charge of the project.
