American Loft
American Loft is the largest project to date by the development firm, CREI. The company describes American Loft as a “cross between an urban villa and a tower.” Visitors will immediately notice the unique structure, which takes the shape of three inverted Ls. This innovative design is already commanding attention in Northern Liberties, the hot, up and coming neighborhood where the building is located.
American Loft consists of 38 condominiums, including several penthouse apartments and two town homes. There is also an onsite fitness facility. Each condominium features kitchens with stainless steel BOSCH appliances. The impressive bathrooms come with Kohler, Jado, and Toto fixtures. Homeowners will also love the extra-large storage areas.
The three interlocking L shapes that form the building are each made out of different materials for added visual interest. The spaces where the Ls meet create terraces, large enough for outdoor dining. The artistic design of this project extends even to the parking lot, which creates a unique green space. The lot is made out of “grass-crete” which is concrete cells with grass growing throughout. The parking lot gradually becomes a beautiful park, as what starts as a 100 percent concrete parking lot gives way to a mix of grass and concrete, until the concrete ends and it becomes all grass and trees. The effect is stunning.
American Loft is just one of the newest structures in Northern Liberties. Demand for homes in this edgy neighborhood continues to increase. Northern Liberties has undergone a major transformation in recent years. More and more art galleries, restaurants, and night spots are making their homes in the area, creating what many regard as Philadelphia’s version of SoHo in New York.
Prices for an American Loft condo start in the mid $200. So far, the building is 53 percent sold.
