MetroClub Condominiums
What was once a dingy and vacant eyesore has now become one of the sleekest and bright residences in the city of Philadelphia. Developer Ron Caplan and Lubert Adler Partners have successfully turned the old Metropolitan Hospital on Race street into a luxurious urban living space called MetroClub Condominiums.
Despite its desirable location near Old City, the hospital sat empty for a decade on Franklin Square. Instead of tearing the building down, the developers embarked on a $30 million project, focusing on taking advantage of the unique rounded exterior. They created 129 spacious condos, ranging from 850 to 1,800 square feet. The bronze colored mirrored glass curving around the upper floors of the building now stand as a beacon of graceful living.
The MetroClub features a beautiful lobby, attended by a doorman, concierge service, an outdoor heated swimming pool and state-of-the-art fitness facility. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and include several cabanas for outdoor relaxation. Each residence comes with deeded parking.
The location of the MetroClub could not be more convenient to Center City attractions. Old City, Chinatown, the Reading Terminal Market, Gallery Mall are all within just a few blocks. Homeowners also enjoy quick access to Philadelphia’s many historical sites, including the Liberty Bell, the city’s best restaurants and boutiques, and the Delaware River waterfront.
Prices for a MetroClub condominium start at $250,000. Penthouses cost around $800,000. The developers say that they firmly believe Franklin Square will be the city’s next hot sport. The MetroClub is just part of a growing trend of luxury homes being developed in this emerging neighborhood.
