Murano
This stunning high rise is being called Philadelphia’s most thrilling new luxury residence. The $165 million, 42-story masterpiece is located along newly-popular West Market Street. This area is increasingly in demand because of its convenient location to Center City’s business district.
The first thing visitors will notice about Murano is the striking glass exterior, which is fitting because the building is named after the world-renowned, equally beautiful Venetian glass produced in Murano, Italy. Inside, the modern building will feature 302 one and two bedroom condominiums, ranging from 742 square feet to 1,250 square feet. Prices are currently starting in the high $300,000s. Many of the condos will feature dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows that curve around the living space. Some will include private balconies or terraces. All units will offer unparalleled city views, modern kitchens, and spa-like bathrooms with soaking tubs and glass tiled showers. The Murano will also provide home owners with a multi-level parking garage, with a space for each unit. 9,000 square feet of the building will be used as retail space.
The Murano will be known for its luxurious amenities, including a state-of-the-art fitness center and massage room, an indoor swimming pool, and beautifully furnished indoor and outdoor patios. Residents will also be able to entertain friends and throw parties in the hospitality area, which will offer a fully furnished kitchen.
The West Market Street area is a new residential neighborhood that is generating great interest among those who wish to live and work in Center City. The Murano’s advantageous location will make it easy for many residents to walk to work in the Central Business District. It is also very close to Philadelphia’s major highways, 30th Street Station, University City, and a wide range of restaurants and retail stores.
Thomas Properties, of Los Angeles, and P&A Associates, a Philadelphia company, are jointly developing the Murano. The stunning high-rise was designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz and Associates of Chicago. Construction is expected to begin in early 2006 and should take 26 months.
