Commerce Towers
Commerce Towers, located in the heart of downtown Houston, Texas, combines traditional elegance with all the convenience of urban living. Completed in 1928, the Commerce Building has long been one of the city’s best-known landmarks and now has been converted to upscale condo residences. The 25-story structure offers 135 carefully renovated and upgraded units in 50 different floor plans, each with unique features to suit a wide range of personal needs and tastes, yet all designed to accommodate the busy lifestyle of today’s young professionals.
Though the variety of residences makes generalizations impossible, all offer sought-after and top-of-the line features, such as 11- to 18-foot coffered ceilings, and kitchens with Brookhaven cabinetry topped with granite. Bathroom vanities also are finished with granite, and some units provide double vanities, separate showers, and/or whirlpool Jacuzzi baths. Many residences have balconies–added to the building with its renovation–as well as oversized windows framing dramatic city views. Commerce Towers’ 11th floor provides two-level residences, and buyers might also consider a three-level, custom-designed penthouse.
Building amenities include an Art Deco-inspired lobby with 24-hour concierge and valet services, porter services, five passenger elevators in addition to service/pet elevators, CAT5 fiber optic pre-wiring for high-speed telecommunications, a conference room, two party rooms with a catering kitchen, a fully-equipped fitness center, secure indoor parking and guest parking, as well as a heated rooftop swimming pool that has been described as an island of serenity in the center of a bustling, vibrant city. In addition, each unit’s heating and air-conditioning unit is individually controlled, and residents can take advantage of bi-weekly dry-cleaning and weekly car wash services.
Commerce Towers’ location is key. The building is within blocks of City Hall and its surrounding parks and gardens, Houston’s theater district, and pro sports arenas. It’s only steps from a light rail system for easy access to all areas of the city. In addition, Commerce Towers is part of Houston’s “Tunnel” concourse system, which combines air-conditioned underground promenades and skyways that link major office buildings, cultural centers, restaurants, and The Shops at Houston Center Mall, throughout the downtown area.
